At the 2015 NARI REMY Awards, Mission Kitchen and Bath was awarded both the Gold Award and an All Star Award in the category of Kitchen Remodel $30,000-$60,000. The REMY awards represent the highest quality remodeling projects in Kansas City and honors contractors for their craftsmanship, professionalism, and commitment to excellence in remodeling.

Over the years the kitchen has transitioned from a place where meals are prepared to the heart of the home. It’s not only a place to cook and share meals, but also a place to gather and entertain. As a result, kitchens have been opened up to the rest of the home and expanded. Mission Kitchen and Bath’s award-winning kitchen remodel followed this trend perfectly with an expanded, open floor plan that creates the perfect gathering spot to spend time with family and entertain guests. Perhaps the greatest enhancement to this kitchen is the improved flow of traffic and additional space for seating, conveniently placed around a wall-mounted big-screen TV. As part of this new design, more counter space was added for cooking, entertaining, and to accommodate various elements of storage. Custom-depth, stained maple cabinets are paired with the beautiful white granite countertop of the island and the slate grey appliances to give this newly remodeled kitchen an irresistible feel.

This year’s submissions were judged by the Greater Omaha NARI chapter and 25 project were given awards. Winners had to score a minimum of 76 points and All Star Awards were given to entries receiving 85 or more points. Before and after photos, budget considerations, overall aesthetic appeal, and communication with the homeowner were all considerations in the judging process.
